The inhabitants of Ferochromon, the Ebisédi, have a rich history spanning many Eras. We provide short summaries of key periods and events in this history here. These summaries describe ancient Ebisédi history up until the Second Great Calamity, which occurred two Eras ago.
- The Era of the Wanderers.
- The Era of the Villagers.
- The Era of the Kingdom.
- The First Great Calamity.
- The Era of the Scattering.
- The Era of Thriving.
- The Second Great Calamity.
Along with their rich history, there had been many languages spoken by the peoples of Ferochromon throughout the ages. We exhibit two of these languages here.
Ebisédian. Surely the most glorious language in the history of the Ebisédi, Ebisédian was perhaps the most widespread language in all of Ferochromon history. It was the official language of the Kingdom spoken during the grand Era of the Kingdom. It was the trade language, the official language, the domestic language, the scientific language—it was a universal language, spoken throughout almost the entirety of all the three realms of the Ferochromon. It has at least three different forms of writing, including a decorative color-writing that paints meaning on the walls of the palaces, and an expansive, planar writing etched on the same, layering meaning upon meaning. No other language since then has had such a wide geographical coverage, nor such literary richness.
Tamahi. One of the daughter languages of Ebisédian, spoken by a relatively large group of survivors of the First Great Calamity during the Era of Scattering. A mere dwarf in the shadow of Ebisédian; but nevertheless a very fascinating language in its own right.
